Finally a weekend..

Been burning the past 3 weekends due to sailing... very sian, missed all the badminton sessions, 20km runs... This weekend is finally secured.

Went for badminton today, brought siswi along to help her train for her upcoming competitions. (Hope we did a gd job) Today's session was great, great training value for me. Playing with bernard's group is always fulfilling with losta experience to gain. Poor siswi was maxed out. I think the past 2 weeks of work and the insanely low amt of sleep really showed its effect. Tomolo morning will be yet another long awaited training that i've missed for 3 weeks. - 20km run.

Started working out since last night when an unexpected guest(leonard) called up, and we ran approx 10km, 2 rds around WCP. Think i will report back to work on monday limping... after really training myself silly over this weekend... HAHA i think i'm abit psycho liao.

Work has not been really smooth lately... With the high and mighty now stating his stand, everything is clear now. Things will never be the same anymore, let's see how the opposition fares against the high and mighty... Sad that people that were once so close had to turn out this way. BUT... no choice.

Trust - Does it exist?

Does trust actually exist?

People whom you think are trustable, are they really what they seemed?

OMP Birthday run

Backdated to 22nd Feb, OMP's birthday...
we ran, as promised, and at the same time tried out our new shoes. The Saucony Paramount. It was a planned 10km run to try out the shoes, for this kind of long distance shoe i dun think running 5km can try anything outta it.
OMP's review was: "its very gd!!! its soft and very comfortable!!!"
Mine was: "eh, no wah factor leh... how come the cushion look so thick but i never feel any spongy feel?"

OMP said that gd shoes shdn't have the spongy feeling. Well, ok gif it to him... i think its also becoz i was use to racers, lightweight thats why this pair which is heavier requires more time to get use to... hehe spend money liao cannot say no gd, if not become carrot head. Anyway, 10km also cannot get anything outta the paramount, shall test it out with a 20km run. Really hope can make it this sun after the dumb sqn burnt 3 of my weekends for the month...

So glad OMP enjoyed his unusual birthday celebration.

My New Running Shoes.

Went to Saucony Warehouse today with OMP, Mingkiat and Leonard... OMP gotta buy a pair of new running shoes coz his had worn out badly, giving him the excuse to escape running!! Well, after today no more excuses.
I needed another pair too coz my current pair is more of a racer, a lightweight pair which cannot sustain long distances, my feet had been hurting doing the 20km runs with it. We narrowed down to 2 brands - Saucony (supposing cheap and good) and Pearl Izumi (the Legendary)
Went down to saucony warehouse, tried afew models, but the colour schemes not nice enough, the flashy enough ones were mostly racers... which defeated the purpose. Finally we found 1 that fitted very well, felt very soft, cushions well too and who knows. Its Saucony's top of the line shoes. RRP: $289. Never knew saucony could cost so much... but of coz we didn't paid that price for it... we got it much cheaper... hehe.
I almost couldn't get what i wanted coz the other trainers look so ugly until Ken (Saucony Sales Rep) showed me the new color scheme for this year. So... unbelieveably i actually spent near $200 for a pair of saucony. Of coz, i didn't spend alone, psycho-ed OMP to get a pair as well... hahaha. Mingkiat got another pair of hurricane for his wife too... Shiok ah!!
Leonard was the only one making a wasted trip, didn't get anything... still say design not impt, not vain.. in the end oso didn't buy coz never see sumthing he like.... tsk tsk vain vain leonard...

Time to show my shoes...

Introducing the Saucony Paramount (Name sard sard rite) -

Buy new pair of laces to better match the shoes.

Swee bo... haha!!!!

Shagged out...

It was a long day at work yesterday with some drama going on... which almost resulted in OMP unable to go for his holiday for a very stupid reason - Guts... someone is lacking it which results a chain effect down the line.
Work has been quite ridiculous, unencouraging and @#$%$^ recently. Thing after thing cropped up, changes after changes and nobody has to ability to take care of the crew. We shall watch and see, how long more before an eruption takes place.
After work, (which was quite late, ard 8+pm) i and OMP went for a run, we called off the planned run with the crew after the long day but we ran ourselves, 16.5km... From WCP to Vivo and back. Its really shag, i think we weren't really in the condition for a long run last night. Struggling with thirst and hunger, by the time the run ended it was nearly 11pm. So shagged that i couldn't even finish a simple plate of hotdog and egg.
Since OMP was flying off 6+am in the morning, i was rather surprised that he actually agreed to run with me, he told me there's too much things bottled up, needed this run to sweat everything out.
Persisted to play badminton today too with bernard and gang... wah piang, really taxing... 3 games are all that i can sustain. However, fruitful session it is....

NEXT.... Mahjong time!!! Weesen and val is here liao...

Spoon Drop In

I've been thinking bout intakes since some time ago, juz couldn't make up my mind which one to choose.
Gruppe M
Mugen
J's Racing
BMC
Blitz
Choon's Customized and so on...
The all cost a bomb and each have their flaws so i really dun wan to juz buy and regret... need more reviews from my friends before i can decide...

Since i cannot make up my mind yet, 没鱼虾也好, i went to buy the SPOON drop in air filter. There! I've done it again!! spending money buying aftermarket paper filter. This is the 2nd time i actually bought an aftermarket paper filter. First is TRD which i bought for my IS200 and now SPOON, hahaha... Is it really vanity? I guess my friends would strongly agree with that.

Anyway since buy liao if regret oso lan lan liao. I choose SPOON becoz its the only jap tuner i know that has drop ins for FD2R, K&N has it too but i juz dun like K&N... so i rather choose the paper filter over it.
I actually called up to ask some dumb questions before buying,
Me: Hey, wat's the material of your spoon filter?
Spoon guy: Its paper kind, but washable, very gd performance.
Me: How does it compare to K&N? Better? (ask for the sake of asking, coz one shd already know the ans when you ask that to a spoon dealer)
Spoon guy: Ya, sold alot already.

Haha... after that i went down to get mine... after installing, my car feel a tinge more erm... responsive? I wouldn't really say that... i think the smoothness increase... making the car erm... more driveable... Well i did feel something but isit really the filter or its the feeling that you juz spent on something and subconsciously you felt it work... I would like to think its the filter... keke, so case close... SPOON filter works.

Paper for paper... @#$% see SPOON's in yellow, so nice rite... my wife said so too...

14.4km Run @ WCP

Backdate this run on as of 4th Feb,

Our run this session is held at WCP, considering its nearer to camp and we can start the run earlier.
New aim of the month is for the Marathon guys to be able to clock at least 20km by end of this month, so they are in pace for sundown...

Looking at few of the guys physical state that day, we ditched the initial 16km WCP to Vivo and Back route for a more flexible route - 3 Rds ard WCP which amts to 14.4km. As expected, afew of them couldn't complete it. Haiz, knowing we having this running session in advance still dun prepare for enough rest...

Distance: 14.4km

Timings:
me - 1H27
henrence - 1H33
OMP - 1H36
Marcus - 1H47
Woon - 2H02
Zongren - 2H15

Kudos to woon for completing this run without stopping...

Mingkiat and Wife, Jasmine and don did not complete the run for various reasons... some are yi yan nan jing...

"Wah!! you mean they are so many crazy ppl already running at this time!?" It was 6.30am at that time.... wahaha

OMP did manage to finish his session too, quite a gd run, siswi did 17.5 before she gave up... an improvement... well, i improved too.. hehe
