Another first, 10km run...

Juz came back from east coast, was running my (again) first 10km, runners today were, oldman peh, mingkiat, aston, leonard and gf, siswi and bf, me... leonard led us on the biathlon route which amounted to 10km...

Couldn't find the map to illustrate it. we started from sunset bay (for those who know where it is) run all the way to NSRCC and back to the hawker center, turn ard and finish back at sunset bay... the weather was gd, except rd was abit wet. (dirtied my shoes abit) I finished my 10km at ard 55mins, i thought that was not bad... and evil leonard was trying to psycho me and OMP(oldman Peh) to join biathlon. I dun think i would do that in the near future, coz i totally hate the sun, sand and sea...

I think the 8km last week conditioned the body a little, today's 10km, my knees didn't felt as wobbly as when i did the 8km. But it was a gd run... everyone came a long way to sweat it out, rain or shine. Kudos to the effort runners....

Juz came back from a freaking irittated sailing... dun wish to talk bout it too... unbelievable.... tired, still thinking wana go wash my car anot... well at least i'm looking fwd to tonight's 10km run...

Again and again...

Juz sailed back this morning... and by afternoon i was back on ship again...yet another activation by the 'buay kanz' fellow ship.... i hate having status if they were part of the day's deployment... coz the chances of activating us is god damn high @##$%^....

Wonder if the crew onboard had ever felt embarrassed before.... i think i would if i'm the culprit... but well, 一种米养百种人...

Juz venting my irritations.... irresponsible goons with low sense of dignity...

Satisfaction

Today's the day.... my try at the longest run of my life so far....
Runners today: Oldman Peh, Siswi and BF, Paul, Roy, Aston, Mingkiat and ME...

Due to the pessimistic weather, we did not stick to the original plan of running from VIVO to WCP, we are afraid that on the way there, it will start pouring before we even started running... So we decided... 2 Rounds around the full WCP instead which will amount to approx 9km. Slightly longer...

Weather was very cooling, all started running at a healthy, sustainable pace... by the end of first round, can see afew was already shag. But for them, 4.5km already deserve a pat on the back. Didn't expect everyone to be able to pull through the whole 9km... But we were wrong. Everyone made their utmost effort to complete the planned mileage so no one fell out.

BRAVO ZULU to ALL!!! The effort and spirit is remarkably impressive for the guys... especially Roy and Paul.... I'm damn proud of you guys....
Well, since we've done it once and we will be doing it again and regularly...

Run on 23rd

Looking really fwd to the run on the 23rd...

Sentosa Gateway to west coast park... This is my first 8km run... Dunno if i can complete it... i do hope so... I use to detest running so much that its the last thing i would ever do...

It all happened all of a sudden that i think i wana start running to cut some bulk and i went to buy myself a nice pair of Asics... then i juz started running and running, maybe becoz i really like my shoes?? Fucking Vain rite. Haha

Then as i got addicted, along came leonard who runs 20km on weekends if he has the time... suddenly i too haf the urge to be able to do that... but for a 5km everyday runner... 20km seems like damn farfetched... well, i think i'm determined...
so my first step - increase mileage progressively.
I map a 8km route and start jioing my colleagues, the response wasn't too bad...

We haf oldman peh. leonard, siswi, paul, mingkiat and myself... all are ppl who all love running except maybe paul(still cultivating but at least he took up the challenge)

Depending on the outcome of this run, either we will all love running more or maybe some ppl might drop out after this.

Below is the route i mapped for the run on 23rd, will be mapping longer routes all over singapore in order to achieve my 20km target and to make running more interesting.

Anyone who thinks you feel like joining me, you shd haf my number... if you dun then dun bother....

Finally manage to get my hands on a copy of Jay's latest album... Not a die hard fan of Jay though... but i've all his albums... dunno why its ablums always gets sold out when newly launched... thats why its a challenge to grab one...

This album after much effort found it at gramophone... it comes with Jay's poker cards and rubik's cube.. I've got a fren who bought it but did not receive the rubik's cube... So dun get shortchanged...

Suppose to fetch YX @ shenton her training... as sen and i were on our way, YX smsed to say they will be delayed... since we were almost reaching, we decided we could go over to marina south to siam the shenton ERP...

Since we've got time on our hands, and i felt a tad of nostlagic when i passed through that short underpass... so decided to take a couple of photos... those who use to frequent MS will surely find some memories here....

Junkai - finally back from overseas studies.... for gd

My wife's "Manual car refresher Lesson #1"

YX was toking bout wana start driving my car ard and she shd try driving it finally... Well, ok... so i brought her out for a practice...

So off to Jalan Buroh --> safest place, sunday extremely light traffic.
I was sure she couldn't even drive my car out from my carpark so i did the driving to Jalan Buroh. I wasn't convince she could drive so we skipped practice on main rds... we turned into 1 of those industrial area where its like a maze and you could practice on alot of turning, stopping, moving off juz to get a feel of the car.

Stats:
Last driven: more than 10 mths ago.
Last driven a manual car: 5 years 6 mths

I reccee-d the place, stop by the rd, swap over... tested her on pedal positions, briefed her on how to engage the gears... did a stationary gear changing practice.
And.... off we go...







YX looking stress driving, did not even protest when i took pics of her... hehe...

Back to driving... her driving was atrocious...

- Poor moving off (no prob, thats the purpose of practicing)
- Poor usage of gears
- Very slow reaction
- Stop wayyyy behind stop lines (till i oso cannot see if rd's clear)
- turn using wrong gear
- cannot brake in time
- unclear of right of way

I had to incoporate practicing of e-braking too.



Speed was acceptable going at 45km/h...

After Lesson #1, conclusion.

FAILED. No main rds till she can master the basics... and this shall be a weekly lesson from now on...
