Morale, also known as esprit de corps when discussing the morale of a group, is an intangible term used for the capacity of people to maintain belief in an institution or a goal, or even in oneself and others.
This is a upcoming problem at work if its still not treated. A gd worker is only gd when his spirit is high, when the spirit is broken... another side of him will surface. One can have all the expertise, experience, attitude, efficiency... But it only lasts as long as his spirit holds. Once its delinquished, all will fade...

Reis' First day @ School
Reis' going to school today. Her first day in nursery at Clementi Woods Kindergarten @ Clementi Bible Center.
Its not her first time going to school so she's quite ready for what's in stall... She had her gd share or crying/screaming a year ago when we enlisted her into Cheri Hearts... But it would be her first time in a school bus. Although the school is 10mins walk away, we still registered her for the school bus to lighten my mum's load, so mum need not travel to and fro everyday.
Reis posing for pics in her 'designer osh gosh b'gosh' lookalike uniform... Nice rite... i love her uniform!!

Her class: Nursery Peace

Today and tomorrow's orientation, parents are allowed to accompany for these 2 days to settle their kids in, know more bout the school. School hours are also shorten from3 hrs to 1.5hrs for these 2 days so the child wun feel its too long away from home to run them in.
Clementi woods also stagger their school term for the various levels ie: playgroup, nursery, kindergarten to ensure sufficient teachers are there to help settle the first day @ schools... thats why Cadis' school starts only next week... Very thoughtful...
I think Reis shd be quite happy over there... lets wait and see.

20km again
After yesterdays badminton with bernard's new group... i'm like quite exhausted... but i'm still looking forward to this morning's 20km run with muzhong - my new permanent 20km companion.
Same time same place, we kicked off at 7am, at fort rd, towards NSRCC....
Today's run seems longer than before, maybe due to the little fatigue i'm encountering, or maybe mind not as strong today. Muzhong isn't much better, he's really not in gd state today, having problems regulating his breathing, resulting in him puncture at the 15km point.
My feet were hurting too today besides the usual knee strains (muz be the badminton). I did thought of walking when i reach macs but i have never given up before and i definately dun wan to start now.. So lan lan press on... Finally finished it and i was surprised that my timing actually improved slightly, shaved 3 mins off the previous run.
Distance: 20km
Timing: 2Hr09min

All New Jurong point
Went Jurong Point with my family last night, heard it had an annex constructed and in operation liao... I muz say it is a very gd annex, once of the best annexes added, compared to what bugis junction and heeren has... there were restaurants all over, a great deal of them, the new retailers were oso buzzing with crowd. Too crowded there. Didn't really haf time to shop properly.
Jurong Point is already very crowded during weekends, with the annex, business will surely bloom... but parking will definately be a huge problem once Jurong Point residence starts occupying. Anyone haven been there?? Well make it a point to drop by, its a damn gd place for a meal with so much choices...

Night shoot
Was on MSN with bernard the other night, the suddenly 'xin xue lai chao' jio me go night shooting... It was 9pm and he jio to shoot at 9.30... wah a guy on long leave really can splurge time. Since i wasn't really feeling lazy, i agreed...
We met at goodwood park hotel at 10pm and started shooting once we step outta our cars.. very focus. Although bernard told me to bring along my tripod, i was too lazy to do that, in the end... got myself to blame for the lousy shots.
Took some lessons from bernard for night shots, we were mainly shooting bulb mode and F11-16, 22
So below are my humble shots, all without tripod...

Good'ol bernard...

And of coz, our island's most famous gate - the ERP Gantry

Improved timing
Its been sometime since i ran at west coast park due to the pain in my knees after the 2 runs if you guys remember...
I was thinking, after running so long, how come my timing still remain around the same with no significant improvement... So i tried opening up during the last leg of the run which is approx 900m... quite shag, but still muz try...
At least... some results...
WCP distance: 4.7km
Average timing: 24++min
recent 2 runs: 23min11, and the latest 22min46.
We were talking bout marathon timings juz the other day... as it was my first, i dun know what to expect. Initially i thought 5Hr++ is the norm... but when i ask ard my frens who ran, they were all doing 6HR+... then i found out siswi does it in a whopping 4Hr28min... wah... suddenly its like... so fast!!
With my current training pace, siswi says i shd haf no problems running sub 4s too... i really dun know if i can do it... it suddenly seems quite hard... OMP commented that i'm too competitive, saying i could definately do it BUT after that maybe it might be my only marathon... next time maybe cannot run again...
Well, i'm really pushing myself quite hard, my knees had been quite taxed recently... i think i shd start to moderate if not what OMP says might really come true... Will start moderating after tomolo's 20km with muzhong again.... keke

Painting my house
Came home from sailing, had initially planned to take a short nap, followed by some working out... Scarli i reach home, i almost fainted.... the 2 women in my house were painting... ARGH!!! That means no rest for me after protecting Singapore...
I wanted to ignore and go to sleep, but PROFESSIONALISM stopped me... my mum and my wife, armed each with only a paintbrush, were painting the whole house down... No rollers, no masking tape... Juz paintbrush. The walls were full of "holidays" (Naval term for uneven painting), i see liao can't sleep... took the paintbrush over and start patching the unbelievable task... grumbling as i go along... haha
I wouldn't say its perfect now but at least its acceptable... what can 1 expect from paintbrushing the house.... very gd liao hor....
Next time they do this again, i think i will volunteer another day of patrol....
